Digital cameras resolutions
If you have a digital camera, what is its highest resolution?
Do you print the photos yourself and is the quality good? If it is, what kind of printer do you have?
I have a very basic printer (Canon S100) which is fine for text but very bad and slow for printing pictures. I plan to get a good photo printer soon.

I have a HP Deskjet 934C and it prints out pretty good pictures. I've been really happy with it so far.

I'm lucky enough to be able to borrow works camera whenever I want, which is most weekends.......LOL........it is a Sony Cyber Shot DSC - F707 (5.0 MegaPixel). It's a great camera, but then again for over $3000 (Aus) it would want to be.
The printer I use is an Epson Stylus 580, it seems to do a good job with pictures especially with the high quality paper, but it is very slow, but hey you get what you pay for I guess.

1.5 megapixels.
I use an Epson printer. It is an older one, but it does a terrific job on images.
I highly recommend Epson printers, even over HPs, for quality image printing.
I have printed quality images as gifts, on glossy and matt finish photo paper and the results have been stunning, even for my little old Epson. The newer models (mine isn't even made anymore) I understand are even better.
Good luck Olly.

The one I use is my sons, pretty new at it, It's has a 1.3 and I use a epson stylist color 400, they come out pretty good on just normal paper, haven't tried any with good quality photo paper yet. Have to do some experimenting.

I have a 640x480 resolution Polaroid Digital camera that was given to me a couple of years ago at Christmas. The pictures are actually pretty good, as long as you don't want to enlarge or crop them
I have a Lexmark Z12 that I print photos on. I believe it's 1200x1200 resolution, it's a good printer and it wasn't very expensive. I bought my dad a really nice HP printer that was supposed to be GREAT for photos, and my little Lexmark is much better than his!
I want to get a nice 4 plus megapixel digital camera, but I'm holding out because the prices have been coming down pretty quickly.

I use a 3.34 megapixels. I print pictures from a HP 970 and it comes out good, but not as good as those printer designated for picture printing only.

I use an older Nikon, Coolpix 800, I'm pretty sure it's 2 or 3 megapixels, but I haven't paid any attention to that since I bought the camera because it takes such good shots! We have an HP PhotoSmart 1000 printer and it does a great job. I'm planning on starting a small business (emphasis on small) soon, taking portraits of kids and animals and I'll probably have to get a new printer, but I'm not sure. This printer really does a good job. Good luck on your hunt!

Thanks all for your feedback
From several online reviews I read, it seems Epson photo printers are very good but expensive to use (the ink is).
The best photo printer seems to be the new Canon S900/9000 Photo which is cheap to use with 6 individual ink tanks.
The printer is very expensive though!
There is a long review about it at http://www.steves-digicams.com/2002_...non_s9000.html
I have an "old" Olympus Camedia C920 Zoom (1.3 megapixel) and a Canon PowerShot Pro 90 (2.6 megapixels) that has a 10x optical zoom great for taking pictures of birds.

3.2 megapixels here
I just bought a Sony DSC-P5 over the weekend courtesy of the IRS. It's small and only weighs 8 oz. I know the resolution is wonderful, however, I can't really tell how good the pix are when my video card is only 1 MB. Can't wait for the insurance check to come after the power surge!
Also looking at a printer now that my laser blew chunks. Dad has an Epson he loves. I'm looking for a good deal.
Cheers,

I have a Fuji Finepix 4900 - 4.3 megapixels.
I have an HP printer. I know it is meant for digital photos but I can't remember the resolution. It cost me approx. $500 US.
