Love the Nikon fixed 50mm 1.8

Ken Rockwell rates it as one of the top 10 lenses ever made, and it is a bargain for the quality of photos you get. Nikon 50mm f/1.8 AF Nikkor
I have it on my D40, and although the D40 and D60 don't have a built in AF motor (they require lenses to have a built in motor, which this lens does not), you get pretty used to manually focusing it, after all that's the way everyone took pictures for decades not too many years ago. Anyway I highly recommend checking it out if you're a Nikon user, I know there are similar lenses for Canon as well. Just great for close range portraits, so crisp and detailed.

Thanks for your feedback

I plan to get a 50mm, not sure if it would be the 50f1.8 or the new 50f1.4AFS which has the built in motor.
I tried the 85f1.8 (without motor) on a D40 and found it interesting but a little hard to use.
