Very true. I have read quite a few reviews on those 3 lenses, and all of them were good. And for the not-so-good things that were pointed out in the reviews, they were the same for all three. I never buy electronics/camera gear without exploring my options and doing a thorough comparison of a few different products. On top of being picky though I'm also very indecisive

so eventually I get to a point where I just have to force myself to choose
something!!
The first thing that drew me to the sigma 18-50 2.8 was simply that I found one on craigslist, for a great price. That prompted me to do more research on that particular lens. Unfortunately it isn't listed on craigslist anymore, but from what I read in the reviews it seemed to be a very decent lens, one that I might be interested in even without the craigslist discount

And that's when I found the Sigma 17-70.
Would I prefer the constant 2.8 aperture of the Sigma 18-50; the wider range on the Sigma 17-70; or the Image Stabilization on the Canon 18-55? Decisions, decisions....
