Very true. I have read quite a few reviews on those 3 lenses, and all of them were good. And for the not-so-good things that were pointed out in the reviews, they were the same for all three. I never buy electronics/camera gear without exploring my options and doing a thorough comparison of a few different products. On top of being picky though I'm also very indecisive so eventually I get to a point where I just have to force myself to choose something!!

The first thing that drew me to the sigma 18-50 2.8 was simply that I found one on craigslist, for a great price. That prompted me to do more research on that particular lens. Unfortunately it isn't listed on craigslist anymore, but from what I read in the reviews it seemed to be a very decent lens, one that I might be interested in even without the craigslist discount And that's when I found the Sigma 17-70.

Would I prefer the constant 2.8 aperture of the Sigma 18-50; the wider range on the Sigma 17-70; or the Image Stabilization on the Canon 18-55? Decisions, decisions....

And what was your decision? Or are you still hesitating?

Still working on it

We went out of town over the 4th, for a very long weekend, and just been busy since then! And just yesterday I noticed that the Sigma 18-50 2.8 is back on craigslist... hmmm....

It would've been nice as a birthday present, but I was kind of eager to have the new lens for the vacation last weekend. Since that's over and gone now, a few more weeks won't kill me I suppose

Still working on it?

What about the Canon 18-200? I did not read any reviews about it but it is stabilized at least.
Have you checked some prime lenses like a 20mm etc?

My next lens will be a 50mm f1.8 or f1.4
