Oops... I guess that was a little vague, huh? Sorry!

The Nikon Coolpix my friend got was an S series model I'm sure. The reason she didn't like it however (which I probably should have mentioned in my first post ) was because there were no menu buttons on the back of the camera to navigate through the settings; it was all done on a touch-screen.

Now that I'm looking at all of them on the Nikon website it appears that the Coolpix S60 is the only model with a full touch-screen on the back of the camera. The other ones look very nice though. It's been a while since I was in the market for a P&S camera so there are probably many more features available now then when I bought mine.... which the Nikon P90 has just confirmed to be true VERY nice choice!

Thanks for all of your responses. I am now leaning towards the Panasonic Lumix FX28, which has received excellent reviews even over the newer Nikon P90. Does anyone have any experience with the Panasonic?

Panasonic's description reads:

The LUMIX DMC-FZ28 digital camera boasts a premium 27mm wide-angle LEICA lens with an 18x optical zoom, ideal for tight indoor shots and long-distance action photos. The 10.1 mega pixel digital camera also features an enhanced Intelligent Auto Mode (iA), with the new AF (auto focus) Tracking function, making it easier for photographers at any level to shoot sharp, well-focused photos, even when the subject is moving making it ideal for action shots.

Cindy: that Panasonic is a very nice bridge camera but if you are really into action photos and since this is not exactly a pocket size camera, a slr like the Canon XSI/EOS 450D you were looking for would do much better.

Zoë: I would not like a camera with a full touch-screen. I bet it is full of fingerprints!
