Smile Some photos of birds

Some photos of birds taken in London last Monday (sunny) and this afternoon (not so great light). They were all taken with a Nikon D300 and Nikkor 200f2 (plus the converter 1.4x for the two last photos).

Beautiful. I really like the color in the first 3. The reflection is amazingly clear.

Those are awesome. I love the rich colors and how you were able to capture the reflections of the birds faces on the pond. The last one, with the moon is my favorite. You got the bird and the moon to pose perfectly , now that's great photography!

Getting a good lens is very important as you keep it "for life" while the camera will get "outdated" quickly. It does not mean your camera is suddenly bad when its successor arrives but you will want a better autofocus, more megapixels etc Also, usually a lens holds its value well in case you want to sell it later which is really not the case for a camera body...
