Good Point and Shoot Digital Camera?

Last Christmas my husband gave me an inexpensive Kodak digital camera. It takes ok stills but the action shots are ALWAYS missed. Any recomendations for a good point and shoot digital camera that can take decent action shots?

Thanks!
Diane

I think the best is to try to get a small SLR like the Nikon D40. I have not seen a good point and shoot digital camera for actions shots yet and I am also looking for it.
The Panasonic LX3 seems good but it is expensive. The Canon G10 is nice but it is expensive AND bulky, almost larger than some small SLRs...
Currently I am using a Panasonic TZ3 which is OK. It has a nice range 28-280mm and a stabilised lens.
