My new Baby...

Christmas came a little early this year and Santa treated me to a new Nikon D300! It will replace my D70, which has served me well. I was debating between the 300 and the D90, which has the same processor, and the same big beautiful LCD display. The 90 has "HD" video ability, which intrigued me, but the 300 had a few extra features that I really liked. I was going to sell my 70 on ebay, but I can't bear to see it go to a stranger, so I am going to pass it on to my nephew. BTW, if anyone is interested in getting into a digital SLR there are tons of used ones out there at some really great prices. Thanks for listening, just wanted to share my good news.

I know that feeling exactly. I won't forget my first dslr. I ended up selling it to someone on a photography forum so I could upgrade. It sure is an expensive hobby and I just don't have the time to do it lately. I am hoping to be able to try to get some posed shots of the dogs tomorrow. I say that now but when tomorrow comes, I won't have time.

I know that feelling too but not with a camera. I remember my first car and how I hated to replace it even though it was costing me money. I guess it's the memories that come with things that make it so hard to let go. I'm sure you took load of pics of your baby with that camera!! Hope you make loads of good memories with your new one.

You will enjoy it. Its autofocus is really good
I do not use the D70 (my first DSLR) anymore but still often use a Nikon D40 because it is light and compact.

WOW, that's great! I'm a Canon girl myself -- got a 40D -- but I'm fairly familiar with the Nikon line-up and the D300 is awesome! Can't wait to see some pics!
