Question Avitar size

Hi, I've picked out an avitar, but now I can't get the size right. When I resize it to 65x54, it says it is still 35mb, how do I get it smaller, without losing picture hight and width?

Re: Avitar size

35mb? What format is the picture - a bitmap? You would need to save it as a .jpg or .gif to have a hope of getting it down to 10kb (not to mention, accepted by the forums script).

Or you mean 35kb? If so, just reduce the resolution a little.

Btw: the limit in dimensions for an avatar is 64x64 pixels. A picture with a 65 pixel dimension would be rejected at upload since it exceeds that (even if the other side is smaller).

Red face Re: Avitar size

oh duh, yes, 32 kb, lol. I now have the picture 62x64 and 11kb, but still not small enough. I'm going to play with it in Paint Shop Pro and see what I can do. Thanks!

Re: Avitar size

Well, if paint shop doesn't make it easy, either of the following two (free) programs would:
Irfanview www.irfanview.com
Easy Thumbnails www.fookes.com/ezthumbs
