Question AKC papers incorrect

I just got a new puppy and the breeder gave me his AKC registration papers. I think the sire on the registration form is incorrect. I haven't had a chance to talk to the breeder (told her I would call tomorrow after puppy's vet visit). How do I correct this or is this something that the breeder has to correct?

Why do you think the sire is wrong? Did you maybe think the sire was a different one for some reason?? Can you explain a little further?
There are a few different senerios that I can think of why this would happen....

How many litters does this breeder have right now? Breeders has more than one litter and handed you the wrong paperwork. If this is the case, its not only the sire that would be wrong, but also possibly the dam. (dam would be right if the breeder bred the sire to different females). This would be one way for a breeder to give out the wrong papers, but any responsible breeder I know of would have already had all the paperwork lined up and ready to go with each puppy. (generally in some type of envelope, folder, etc with the puppy information on the outside so they know they are giving the right one for that particular puppy).

Breeder just outright lied to you about who the sire was OR you mis-understood who the sire was.

Breeder could be using faslified documents.

The breeder is the only one who can correct with AKC.

I would recommend contacting AKC's Compliance & Inspections Department along with the Registration Dept.

The first part of his name is correct but the second part is not what I thought it was. I don't think the breeder lied but I think my friend (she owns my puppy's grandmother) told me the wrong name. I have a call into the breeder to find out.
