What collar do you use when running with your boxer?

For those of you who run with your boxers, what type of collar do you use? We use the Sporn harness when out walking and he doesn't pull much with that, but I don't know if it would be comfortable for a run. I have friends who use a different collar (a prong collar) when running her dogs and the dogs seem to realize the difference between walks (hey, let's stop and sniff everything) and runs (stop only when absolutely necessary or when told to). Any suggestions or thoughts? thanks

Well I don't know but my sons runs with my guys (Ihave a bad knee) and we use the same haltie that he's used to. Weather on walks or running he listens and knows its not time to wander. He gets to sniff etc when let off leash. I think maybe its a matter of teaching them ok or not. I myself wouldn't use a pronged collar ever.

Rowdy wears his harness, which also doubles as a seat belt when he goes for a ride.

When I go running Owen wears his regular leather collar (the only one he has!).

Instead of relying on the collar I have taught him that he is only allowed to pee at certain times/places on the run, or when I tell him to. When we first started running together he would be a typical boy and want to pee on every tree that we passed! But now he know his 'spots' to go!

I always keep an eye out for other dogs do that we can stear clear of them while running. Owen thinks of his runs as a job, and he takes it very seriously. We don't stop to chat with people or play with dogs, and he has quickly realized this and is now OK to pass dogs without a big fus!

Training and practice has been the best thing for us.
