NY/Long Island Schutzhund Clubs...

I am located on Long lsland, NY. I am very interested in getting my dog evaluated/involved in Schutzhund. However, most folks you talk to think that only GSD, Malinois, Dobies are suitable for Schutzhund. My pup's sire is titled in PSA.

Does anyone know of a Schutzhund club on Long Island that is all-breed? There is a PSA club on Long Island, however no one in the club has ever titled a dog....not exactly the club I am looking to get involved with.

You can check out www.martinsk9formula.com and ask Marty if he has any suggestions. There may also be links on the site. We looked into doing Schutzhund with our dog but he doesn't have the personality type for it. Keep that in mind because if they are not high energy or highly aggressive dogs you will really ruin the dog. The trainers that I have come into contact with on long island charge about $400-450 per month, which I hear is average for a good trainer.
