Our Duke was terrifyed of water for a whole year, and then, one day, chased some other dogs (retrievers!) into the water before he realized where they were going. He looked around like," Oh god, I'm WET!!!!!!!" but stayed in. He "swims" - which means he gets in as deep as he can but still able to touch the bottom and hold his nose out, and then he "bounces" and half-dog paddles through the water. He loves it. Someone once said that he was like a submarine - he bounces up, and then sinks, bounces up, and sinks. Whatever. He thinks he's swimming and that's what matters.

Mack, on the other hand, will only get in up to his "ankles." He's happy to watch from the shore and can't imagine why dogs would ever want to get wet.

I'm not really sure. She loves water. We live within a few hundred yards of the Delaware River. When it's warm we usually go down there weekly. Abbey runs and spins and splashes all up and down the shoreline. Every time she gets in deep enough to need to swim, she gets a very panicked look on her face and heads for the shore. I think this year I will get her a life jacket to wear when we go down there. I think both of us will feel more secure.

Rocky LOVES water! In any form shape or fashion! You tell him it's "bath time" and that means the same as "car Ride" or even "Cookie"! He is CRAZY about the hose, and has broken way to many to count due to his boxer pouncing.
He will drag the hose all over the yard, and I've had to buy a heavy duty one so that he wouldn't put holes in in anymore

He LOVES to swim as well! We have a pond in our neighborhood that he swims in reguarly in the summer, and in the Fall and Spring we go on wade in the waters along the cape. He has been a natural swimmer, and you have to watch him because he will swim the whole lengnth of the pond if you let him

Snow is his other OBSESSION! Another form of Water. But he is just like His human Sister when they see Snow outside! In fact I think he gets more excited than she does! He runs outside and pounces on every inch of snow he can find. And when we get a good amount, He dives into it like it was a body of water, and all you see is his head bopping up and down in the white.
