Unhappy aggressive cat with boxer

I have a 12 wk old boxer that I've had for about a month. My kitty (who we've had since she was about a month old) has not become adjusted to the puppy in the home. In fact, she's still really aggressive towards the pup and me. Luckily she's declawed and so she hasn't scratched Clara up, but she bites me all the time, constantly growls and hisses at my husband and I. The cat's about 8 months old now. Well she ever settle down and accept the puppy and stop the aggression. I'm scared I might have to give her away!

Sounds pretty normal to me too.. Our cat takes great joy in "stalking" the puppy.. When I take Angel outside Kohl (the cat) will slink up behind us and try to jump on Angel.. Actually she is just playing but it scares the crap out of Angel.. who jumps up and starts boxing at her.. Now that is hillarious to see.. I think if I ever let the dog go they would actually play together..But i'm not that brave yet.. I'm afraid poor Angel will get the bad end of the deal..

Cool

I also have a 12week old Boxer and have 2 cats. One I have had since he was 3wks old and is now 5years old, and another who is 2 yrs. The older cat is not at all impressed with Dharma as Dharma is a puppy and wants to play and does not realise her paws are so big. Charlie (cat) can be quite nasty and hisses and goes for her which can be scary. Xena seems to be ok, except when Dharma wants to play and on the odd occasion will go her as well. They are both starting to settle down, however I need to teach Dharma to play nice and stop chasing them. Hopefully your cat will also come around and you can all live in peace.. Good Luck.

Sorry to say my cat Zoe is now 14 years old, we got Ali when the cat was 10 years old & Eric when she was 12 years old.

Zoe has never got friendly with the dogs & we keep them separated as much as possible. While I will say Zoe is probably used to having the dogs around she still doesn't like them.........only just tolerates them.

Good Luck........I hope you have more success intergrating them then we have!
