Visla Chatter

I have a visla mix and don't know any in person. Haven't found info on the breed yet that lists the "weird quirks" my boy has. Hoping to find the answers.

Firstly, he definitely has those "catlike" feet and claws. Terrible to trim. Black nails, very thick. Does anyone else have difficulties?

Secondly, prey drive. I know they are hunters, but it's so extreme I can't get his attention for nothing!

Thirdly, his yoddling/screaming/squealing excited language. Is this a visla trait? Never heard another dog make sounds like this guy.

Lastly, His fur.......very rough & prickly, like a sharpei's. Normal coat?

Any insight from visla lovers?

I'm not sure what mix my Sugar is. We were told border collie and shepard. Her sister Kadence (who owns my daughter) looks like a retreiver mix, and Sugar had the colouring of a shepard (black, brown and white. The other day I was looking at your pics and in one picture of Buster, I looked at him and thought that his eyes looked just like Sugar's (the shape, colour, etc). She also ha very dainty feet with thick black toenails that grow so fast and are very hard to cut. Now I'm not sure about the noises that Buster makes, but if we take Sugar in the car, we have to ride with the windows up because it sounds like we are killing her (yipping and yapping), I thought she was just really nervous in the car because she does get carsick, however when she's really excited she sounds like this and Kadence does it too. Maybe they have some Visla in them also. (Kadence is also the same colour as Buster, only her fur is long and soft while Sugar's is shorter and coarser).
