First off, I'm sorry to hear about Boomer. Also, just a word of advice, you might want to let things settle before just adding in a new dog. Give your current dog time to grieve too. I've seen situations that the current dog will not accept the new dog because they weren't give the time to adjust to a new situation. If/when you do add a new dog, just a suggestion, I found a stray pitbull (mix possibly?) and he is the most awesome dog. In the house, he's very calm and loving, very gentle.....but in the yard, he plays like crazy with the other dogs. He's been the perfect balance of calmness and energy.
