We named our guy Chuvalo after the famous Canadian boxer, George Chuvalo.I read about Dempsey and how it takes people a minute or 2 to clue in(if they get it at all!) and can relate to that very well. He was going to be Foreman after George Foreman, but people kept relating it to That 70's Show. I love Chuvalo because it is very a unique name. Very hard to shorten it, though! He has nick names like Goofball and Jack Rabbit which also suit him because he's a nut and when he gets excited he jumps all over the place!

My desert Child

Hey!

I have a 13 month old female, fawn colored boxer, and her name is Gobi, like the desert. I have an 8 month old daughter as well, and we had chosen the name Sahara for her, and then when we got our little boxer pup we stuck with the desert theme....lol...we tease every one we're going to call our son 'Mojave' (hopefully arriving in a few years..haha) I guess I'm one of those cruel parents I used to raise my eyebrows and shake my head at....

Anyhow, 'Gobi' suits our unique little boxer just fine. The way she tears around our 1.3 acres I swear she could cross the desert in a day!

We have called our boxers

Duke and Bear !

Though i originlly wanted to call one Hector - after a famous boxer - someone else said she was callin her boxer that - so i left it !

I didnt like Duke wen i heard it first ..but once we had decided to take Bear too ; they sounded like they fit together

Bear was teh name that the bredder had given him - as he was the biggest of the litter and he looks like a mini bear - as he's all brown and a black mussel!

So thats what mine are called

Duke and Bear !

I've never heard of a dog called Bear - but im sure there are a few Dukes out there!

I love all the names. Ours came with his "Keeper." I tried to get him to wear those shirts that say "I'm a Keeper" but not happening! Since he is our rescue it is very fitting.

Ms Cotton is a proper Sothern lady, we were living in Alabama when we got her and on the way home from the breeder the cotton in the fields was ripe and full.

Boo is short for Buddha, he was seven weeks and all belly and smiles when he came home.

We have a Murphy and Cooper. I know there are a few of both. I like to think of them as our own little law firm.

Wrigley

Wrigley's full name is Wrigley's Heartbreaker -- she was named when the Cubs lost and didn't make it to the World Series. I think it's pretty unique....although everyone thinks she's named after the gum.

We have had two boxers and they were named for horse racing tracks. The first was Saratoga Travers Cup and the second one was named Woodbine Molson Million. We called the first Saratoga and the second Woody. We are getting two boxer puppies on Saturday and are trying to come up with names that the family can agree on. My DH wants to name them Belmon Brooklyn Handicap and Rodisio Rainbow Futurity. I think we will call them Brooklyn and Rio or Rocky. Hard to say. It's a tough decision though and I find that their personalities will decide what we really call them!

Talking

We've always gone with Boxing theme names ... Jake (as in Jake Lamotta), Cesar (Julio Cesar Chavez). Not so original, we've met a lot of Jake's and Cesar's and I actually named my adored skinkid Jake, too.

I think my little Cussa probably has a unique name. His full name is Cus D'Amato, after Tyson's first trainer. People always want to call him "Gus" but it's Cus with a "C"

I haven't heard of any other Moab's

My husband and I love to go off-roading and rock crawling, so with getting a little boy, it seemed natural that he have a name that fits our hobby. That's where we came up with Moab, after the off-road park that is in Moab, Utah. Since he'll be going every where with us, it seemed fitting that he have a Jeep-related name!
