Re: Why'd you name your boxer that?
I chose Tagalong for my girl long before she was even conceived. I am a person to take my furchild everywhere with me, so that was one reason. The name comes from one of the rabbits in the animated movie "Robin Hood". The breeder names all her dogs (she shows Pomeranians) after animated cartoon characters. My baby's mom is Jessie -- after Jessica Rabbit and Jessie's mom is Lola -- for Lola Bunny from Space Jam. So I decided to stick with the rabbit theme she had going for my boxer baby.

We lost our best friend, Cooper, 3 months ago. We loved his name and can't remember where we found it.
We are picking up our new furbaby on Sunday (rescue) and we think her name will be Gibson.
I have had boxers all my life... Morgan, Brandi, Baxter.
Love all of your names too!
Oh, and if we ever got a white boxer... we would name her Luna for the moon.

My girl's name is Foxy. My fiancee' named her and ended up picking her out of a little of 9. I couldn't choose of course...she prances like a princess when she walks. And her back end sashayee's behind her; Foxy just fit. She runs the house and everybody in it... Foxy works for her! Foxy Lady is what I thought of at first but Foxy was perfect!

Re: Why'd you name your boxer that?
I posted this in another thread but realise the background of the name is more suited to this thread... sorry. I'm new here and am still a bit overwhelmed by the number of forums around here
We thought and discussed for weeks a name for our little girl, we had 5 weeks between viewing the litter/purchasing her and picking her up to decide. We wanted a unique name with two syllables. It was really hard coming up with a name for a female we realised!! Something that was different but not too wierd.
We decided on "Mirka" who is named after a famous Melbourne artist Mirka Mora. Mirka the original also has long association with a lovely restaurant in St Kilda which has recently undergone a huge renovation and is now called simply Mirka. It was dining here with friends over Easter that we finalised the name for our gorgeous girl

Re: Why'd you name your boxer that?
I decided on Lance for my new boxer. The real reason is because most of our pets are named after characters in the movie "Pulp Fiction" (cat named Jules, black lab mix named Mia) though our new golden retriever puppy is named Murphy, after Murphy's Irish Stout. A lot of people think it's because I'm heavily into cycling, so he's named after Lance Armstrong. I guess that's ok too

Re: Why'd you name your boxer that?
Master Tyson Alexander is Ty's full name. When I got his ACK papers I found that his fathers name had Master and Alexander in it. I wanted a boxer name and was debating when I realized that my brother's dobermen was named Bryson, so I decided on Tyson. Thought it was kinda cute to rhyme. My father passed away 1 month before Ty came into our family and his intials was MT, so it was also sentimental.

Summer
We named ours Summer Rayne. I don't really know how we came up with it really. I guess it was just the long drive and we brought a baby name book with us. It took us 5 hours to get to the breeders hometown to pick her up so along the way things just clicked.
Rayne was good because she did have quite a few accidents (distant memories now) around the house. But once She had a person home with her she was better able to learn.

Mambo - My hubby and I had decided to call our new boy Jaxon - hubby being in the building trade and Jaxon is the name of a building company. When we received our first email which introduced him as Mambo, which the children in the breeders family had called him, I thought it was so cute and really suited him. Mambo is a brand of surfwear here in Australia and as we live in Scarborough which has the most fantastic surfbeach we figured our little boy would become a bit of a surfie so Mambo stuck. He also responded to his name when I first called him Mambo so how could we change it then. Mambo had his first visit to the beach 3 days ago and had a ball....

We adopted Petey from the Lone Star Boxer Rescue and felll in love with him instantly. He played with our almost 3 year old little boy wonderfully and was instantly a great friend to him and a wonderful part of the family. He is part boxer, part american bulldog, and all love. The rescue orgranization called him by petey, and since he reminded me of Petey from the Little Rascals, the name stuck to him.

Micky
We named Micky after professional boxer "Irish" Micky Ward. My boyfriend is a huge fan so we didn't even consider other names. It already suits him well :-)
