How did you find your boxer's name?

Monday...kinda bored. How did you find your boxer's name?

Cole is named after Cole Fieldhouse (University of Maryland's Basketball stadium). My husband is obsessed with the Terps and we named him for the history and hapiness the sport has brought us. When Cole is in trouble we always use his full name "Cole Fieldhouse Olympia"

The next boxer we add to our clan will be Copper. Named after Copper from "THe Fox and the Hound" disney movie. IT was my favorite movie as a kid, "My name is Copper...Ima hound dog"

Anyway, how did you find your boxers' names?

Well, my ten 10 year old daughter named Joe. She loves Joe Boxer stuff. Her bedspread, sheets, and pillows are all Joe Boxer. Her bathroom is all done in Joe Boxer too. So when we decided to get her a Boxer, it just seemed natural that She picked the name Joe!

I always wanted a male named Tyson. I orginally wanted a cavalier king charles spaniel and my husband wanted a boxer. I am forever grateful that he won that argument. I never even thought about Mike Tyson the boxer when we named him.
Kyzar was suppose to be Angus, but when I saw his pictures it just didn't fit. We were saying a couple of names we liked one night and I said Kyzar and my 2yr old son must have repeated it 20 times. The next day he said it again and Kyzar it was. I called the breeder to let her know and she said it was a perfect name for him.

Vegas' full name is Glencotta's Nobelle Vegas. The first is the kennel name. The second is a combination of his parents names. They were Mister No and Belle.
As far as the Vegas part, that was a battle! Since we couldn't agree on a name, we started just shouting out anything that came on the TV. A commercial for Las Vegas came on and we both yelled out "Vegas!"

We were kicking around names and my husband said Doozer, well that sounded too much like a boys name. But that reminded me of The Matrix which made me remember Trinity, and there you have it! I swear if we ever get a male boxer he'll be Neo!

We got Bailey from the pound and she already was AKC registered and went by the name Bailey. With Jasmine, my husband bought her for me for my birthday and came up with the name. It was really easy.

I named Lily after a good friend (is it a complement to have a dog named after you?) Then I named my Weimie Daisy because I wanted to stay in the flower theme. One added benefit to both names is that they rhyme.

Madison is named from the movie "Splash". We were looking at all the movies in our collection. We wanted to name her TaTonka but I just couldn't see myself outside yelling TaTonka, TaTonka (from the movie Dances with Wolves).

Carson was named because his legs were bowed a little and his chest was so big as a pup that he looked like a old gun fighter and the name Carson just fit. Not to mention it sounds good with Madison.

Justin had his name when we bought him - it's short for Just in Time. Marley was named by our daughter after Bob Marley the singer.
