My son usually names all of our dogs because he plays alot of video games and he can come up with some cool names. So he say's let name him Titus. We liked it so thats what we named him. Come to find out it was supposed to be Tideaus. He corrected us later when he saw how we were spelling it, But I already had the name tag made so TITUS it is.

Buddy's dad wanted to name him Buddy so everyone who ever came into contact with him would automatically call him by his name And everybody to this day says "Hey Buddy", pets him and loves on him, then looks at us and says, "So whats his name?" It definitely fits him too, cause he's everybody's buddy (well, most everybody that is ).

Actually, when we visited the breeder we got Maggie from, they were already calling the puppies by name. She was answering to Maggie, and we liked it, so we decided not to confuse her by changing it.
Now, she only answers when SHE wants to.

okay now no one laugh at this or George its not his fault
anyone remember the elmer fudd cartoon....where the dog doesnt want him to kill the rabbit?
the dog wants to keep it and says " i'll hug him, and love him and call him GEORGE"
well Don used to call tia George every time he hugged her and she wanted someone to call George
Now the Girls:
Phoebe: from the Greek moon Goddess..........which fits her perfect when she was a tiny pup she was such a baby and such she was up all night
Grace: is actually "Hopeful Grace" Grace from the Mythological Graces and hope being the best Grace of all

First boxer who has passed on to the Rainbow bridge was named Roxie cuz the song Roxanne by Police was playing on the radio as we drove to pick her up.
Second boxer was well planned in advance. I love jewelry so I decided to call her Diamond. As it turned out our little Diamond had a roughly shaped Diamond on the back of her neck. We decided to reg. her as Diamond in the Ruff not knowing that there were several Diamond's in the Rough/Ruff in the show ring. We were new to the show ring so we were very ROUGH.
Our third boxer was already named by previous owner, Pete.
Expecting our first litter and have several names already picked out. Ruby in the Ruff(July baby)Cutter(as in Diamond cutting) etc....
I may need to post here for good names for the puppies!!!
I love to hear how others picked out their names.

I expected Tess to look really intimidating when she got older, so I wanted her to have a name that softened her image. So, I chose from a number of "old lady" names that I really liked.

There are four of us in our family so we tossed our favorite names into a hat and the one that was picked was Hennessy and so then we bought a bottle of Hennessy to salute his name

My husband chose Dakota as it means "friend". She lived up to her name and surpassed it tenfold.

We changed our dog's name to Luke. When we first got him his previous owners called him Spike. But we didn't like it cause it didn't suit him (and he didn't answer to it anyhow) I couldn't come up with a name and my bf is a huge Star Wars fan. So he suggested Luke (after Luke Skywalker of course ) and I liked it and it suited him too. Ironically (we did not think about this till weeks later) bf's brother's dogs are named Duke (fawn boxer) and Daisy. So we now have the Dukes of Hazzard..... Luke, Duke & Daisy.
I'm pushing for another puppy just so we can name it Bo

My boy is Paulie because we had a Rocky and I wanted a theme with Rocky movie names. I tried them all but none fit his personality. No one get mad at this...but one day my sister called him "cerebral paulie" and the name stuck. He was going to be Paulie Walnuts from the Sopranos but we neutered him and it really doesn't apply anymore.
