2nd Choice Names

I remember how difficult it was for me to decide on Riley as a name. There were so many choices that I really liked, it was just a tough decision. Just out of curiousity, I was wondering how many of you had a close second choice and if so what was it??

Riley was very close to becoming a Mackenzie (I've always loved that name!!) or a Ripley because it was different.

The breeder from whom we got Tucker has a theme for all of her litters. One year it was Loni Anderson and Burt Reynolds movies and one year it was counrty music singers. Well Tuckers litter was Denver Bronco football player. Tucker was "named" Terrell Davis. I just fell in love with the name Davis. But one day I met a dog named Tucker and that was it. My baby became Tucker Terrell. I still like the name Davis though. Luna was her name when we adopted her. If I had a choice it would have been Daisy or Zoe, but Luna fit her so well so we kept it

To be honest, I can't say that there was a close second for our Madison. There were several names we discussed but Madison was what we finally decided on and that's always stuck. On the other hand, we have plenty of nicknames for her, so she rarely is called by Madison unless we're making reference to her in some manner.

Gunnar's name came with the poor guy but we did adjust the spelling slightly. We thought new life = new spelling, etc. We haven't yet conjured up any nicknames for him, although his daddy calls him Mr. Gunney every now and then! I have no idea where that came from, either! I'm certain in no time, however, that he will have plenty of interesting nicknames.

I decided on Rowdy because I knew what I wanted him to look like. The flashy brindle is ruggedly handsome and tough looking without looking too aggresive, just like the name Rowdy. If I get him a male buddy, I'm leaning toward the name Ruckus. Rowdy and Ruckus are both names that well describe the boxer temperment. My answer to your question is Ruckus.

There were no 2nd choices for Chewy. Hubby had thought of the name Chewy quite a while before we got him, and we both liked it. It fits him, too, because he chews up everything!!

For Stella, we almost named her Annie. We even told the breeder to start calling her Annie a week before we got her, and I even got a name tag and everything. Then I started seeing the name too much, and since I don't like frequently used names, it started to bug me, so we re-named her Stella the night before we got her. But her middle name is Anne.

I really liked the name Mia but since I had just lost Mollie and prior to her, my first Boxer named Meg

I thought I had better steer clear from the M names and went with Hannah

Which is a very pretty name in my opinion

We got Harley on a whim so we didn't really have any names picked out. We were sitting on the living room floor with him going through names. I wanted Duke but my BF's last name is Dukes so he didn't go for that. So I guess Duke was my first choice & Harley was my second choice. But Harley fits him to a T.
When ever we find him a sister I have some names picked out so maybe I'll get my first choice with her

Mercedes was the only name for my girl. I figured it was the only mercedes I'd ever own. When I decided to keep the white pup I was trying to think up another car name that suited him. That's how Beemer came to be. Although he's often called my little moonbeam! My niece asked me a few weeks ago if I get another dog, willI name it AAA!!!

Subi was a rescue, and her name was Alley- Pat nor i liked the name and we wanted to change it, Since pat sells subaru's and she was going to be the mascot we thought Subi Ru was the best pick. It was the only one we thought of

Bailey ALMOST had impy after impreza (another subaru) but pat decided to keep her with her rescue name

We have decided though that if we ever have a boy we might name him Forrester (subaru). or WRX (but his name would be said Rex)
