Need helping naming TWO wiggle butts!!!

So... we already have four wiggle butts, but we are adding two more to our already insane household. We realized that we have kinda been going in alphabetical order, and are looking for two names for our two new little girls that we will be getting in about two and a half weeks. We have Allie, Bryan, Cricket, ______, Ellie, and ______. Hoping for help thinking of names that start with D and F. They are both brindle, and one is the runt. I kinda liked Dazz (Dazzle) and Frazz (Frazzle), but the hubby isn't going for it :-). Any help would be appreciated and look forward to reading your suggestions!!!!

SIX wiggle butts??? WOW! Pictures please I can only imagine the chaos (and the fun) in your house. Kudos to you, I wouldn't be able to do it. Two dogs tire me out plenty
Are you worried at all that the girls might not get along once they mature?

I am going to just skip to the "I" in the alphabet and one word you used in your post will suffice.
INSANE!
Don't get me wrong the idea of a house full of Boxers sounds heavenly but I would need to hire a staff to help me with their care. Meals would be an emotional nightmare (at least in my house where meals consist of a whole lot of preparation for just ONE dog and cat). Factor in that my legs are plenty tired enough at the end of the day from entertaining & walking just one. Yikes.
Where in the heck are they all going to sleep? Do they even make beds larger than California King sized?
Good luck with your naming process. I know it is hard to think of just one name let alone two at the same time.

I'm not worried about them not getting along... all of my current ones are gentle giants. The worse they do is sit in front of you and breathe into your face! Don't need a large bed--- we have a large floor and that's where they sleep!! No doggies on the furniture!! Doesn't stop them from rubbing their slobber bubbles all over everything though :-). I will try to post pics later :-D

Let me see if I have this correct -- in two weeks from now you are going to have two female puppies, a male puppy who will be 17 weeks at that point, a 2 year old female, AND two 9 year old boxers? And they will all be in the same house? Wow, I hope you have lots of help because that definitely sounds insane!

Read my post about bitch fighting and littermate syndrome in this recent thread.....

Considering 2 puppies....any advise?????

Good luck!

I read that whole article. The only reason we are getting two is because the owner can't find a home for the runt but wanted her to go to a good home, so she is giving her to us. She wanted her to stay with the sibling she was attached to. Probably silly on our part, but we agreed to take her and give her a good home. I don't see much harm in that? I've never had a problem with any of my females....

And I love the name Freckles :-D

I guess the concern is that you already have 2 females and you are bringing in 2 more. Bitch fighting can start at any time, even if your females have been getting along previously. I usually happens around the time when all females have reached maturity, so you could go years with nothing happening and then suddenly in 2 years develop huge problems. There are many posts on BW about the issue and I know that members had to rehome females in the past or separate them at all times. It *can* work, I have two females as well (did not know better, also one is not a boxer and I believe that helps as well) but I would NEVER take that risk again. It seems like with a total of 4 females the risk for something to happen in your pack is pretty high!

Females fighting - help

Female Rivalry?

Can 2 females really work?

Don't get me wrong, we don't know anything about your situation, how much time you have and how much help you have with your dogs. It just seems like it could be pretty overwhelming with so many young dogs/puppies that all will need a lot of one on one attention and training.

I think it is awesome that you are able to take on that many Boxers! If I had the room and the resources, I wouldn't hesitate to add more to our household. Good luck with your new additions. Hopefully your females will take to the new pups and mother them. I'm sure it will all work out great. Boxers are such wonderful dogs/members of the family.

P.S. I like Daisy and Freckles

I've never had a problem with my females either (this is the only time I've had two girls at once) but they are 6 years apart in age (the closer in age two females are the higher the chance for a rivalry). Luckily my two girls are also pretty opposite personality-wise so they don't butt heads often. Having two females that are only two years apart is a bit more of a risk, and having two females that are littermates is extremely risky. You've got both of those things going on with your youngest three girls PLUS a male who's right in the middle of them age-wise -- a male is potentially something for them to fight over.

The thing is, if you take in these puppies, everyone will get along just fine and dandy for the first two or three years. Then all at once you'll have THREE dogs who are coming into maturity at the same time, plus your already three adults. If you're EXTREMELY lucky then they will end up all getting along then and for the rest of their lives, but honestly there are SO many risk factors going on with this scenario that the likelihood of 2 or more of them fighting in the future is pretty high. It will be harder on all involved -- you and the dogs -- if in a couple of years you have to choose one or more of them to re-home because they are fighting, after you've grown so attached to them and them to you.

Again it's not something that happens in 100% of cases but the risk is definitely there.
