Though I think Rowdy is a really good boxer name, I think Wiskey is much better in this case. It has a definit meaning to you and your hubby. And every time you say his name while your DH is away it will remind you of him
And I don't think its inappropriate at all.

I have been in your shoes. Nala was my pup during those time What a great stress reliever just when I needed it most. Not to mention a nice warm cuddle bug in the night

I like Whiskey for the emotional tie that it forms between your husband going away and you having the dog while he's deployed. Very sweet!

Thank you all for the replies!

I've kind of got myself into a predicament, now...I've been thinking of him as "Rowdy" in my head for a couple of weeks, and now that I've made peace with "Whiskey," I'm having trouble going back to it! Oh well, you never know what they're going to end up as.....sometimes they just name themselves once you get them home.

The breeder called me last night and told me (jokingly) that he'd eaten himself into a food coma and that I was going to have to watch him, because he's a food bully. Looks like I'm going to have a little fatty on my hands. 3 more days!

I love Whiskey- especially knowing the background of the name. Unique. Fun. Male.
