Annabelle, well that was Shane Falkos girlfriends name in the movie.

GREAT MOVIE!!! You know- I've seen it SO many times too- and I never connected Falko and Annabelles names until now!!! DUHHH! (Great names BTW!!! )
Our Payton was named after the late great Walter Payton (my sons a big fan of his!!!) Walters nickname was "Sweetness", which also fits our baby to a tee as well!

I don't really have reasons. Brady just looked like a Brady and Abbie just looked like an Abbie. Boring I know. I always wait until I get to know the pup's personality and a name just comes to mind.
Abbie's registered name is Princess Abigail de Anthony because her mothers name was Shaker's Precious Princess and her father's name was Bishop de Anthony Studmuffin. I wanted a name from both of her parents and a few people here on BW suggested that name and I made it official. I wanted to spell her name different so I spelled it with an "ie" instead of a "y" like you usually see it. After spelling it that way, I learned another member (Donna, Echo and Carson's momma) spelled her daughter's name like that. I also now see that we have a newer member who spells their pup's name "Abbi"

My DS is a big Rocky (movies) fan. He wanted to name our first boxer Rocky. We have several friends who have dogs named Rocky, so I wanted something besides Rocky but still related to the movies. I suggested Balboa and DS actually liked it.

"I met her in a club down in old Soho where they
drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry
cola C-O-L-A cola
she walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said
Lola L-O-L-A Lola Lo lo lo lo Lo - la"
THAT song popped into my head as I walked up to Lola the very first time and she looked back at me with the 'I'm yours forever" look ;-)))))

Sophie came to live with us at 2 years old as a rescue - the only thing she came with was her name so we kept it
Dino is named after the Ferrari Dino engine - suits him as he does tend to do everything at high speed!

DH named our girl Punchinella after a clown named Punchinello. It's fitting as she is definitely a silly little thing.
Funny thing though, I actually don't like clowns....they creep me out.

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too.

Tag's name was also picked before she was even conceived (actually about 2 yrs. before she was conceived). Her full name (not registered, cuz I don't know if I can post that) is Tagalong.
The breeder has named all of her dogs (mostly Pomeranians, show and pet; but a couple of Boxers) after animated cartoon characters. Tag's mom is Jessie (after Jessica Rabbit from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit") and her grandma is Lola (after Lola Bunny in "Space Jam"). So, when the whole deal came about as to me taking this puppy, I wanted to stick with the rabbit theme she had going with the Boxers (the Poms are on a theme, too, with the puppies being named from the same movie as the mom). I did a lot of research on the 'net about animated rabbits (most of which are boys, BTW) and came upon Tagalong, who is the littlest sister rabbit of Skippy in "Robin Hood".
This name was a perfect fit, because as we all know Boxers want to be with you all the time and I am a person who if I can't take my dog with me I don't want to go. So, she will be my "tagalong".
I know it was long, but that is the story on how my baby got her name

Shasta acutally was originally named after a friend of mine. My friend is so outgoing and has a great personality and carefree.....like a boxer of course! So that's how she got her first name. Her middle name is Daisy. Pretty common right...well I found that there is a flower called: Shasta Daisy so it just seemed perfect. Though some people think she's named after the soda pop. Oh and ironically I found out that my friend Shasta had a dog named Daisy!
She has some nicknames too: Shasty, slobberchops, Chewy (for Chewbacha s/p? from star wars....she makes the same noises), bratski, brindle butt, and silly sister sally sassy pants.

Jaxon got his name because his father's name is Jag. When I looked up Jag on a baby names website, it said that Jag was a nickname for someone named Jack. Jackson (Jaxson or Jaxon) means "son of Jack".
What initially started me looking into the name was a reply on BW when I asked for help naming him!!!

Our Rocky is also named Rocky Balboa, he was my mum's dog but she became too ill to keep him so he came to live with us
Clyde had his name when he got us & when our girl arrived we just had to change her name to Bonnie.

KenTUCKy love.
Tucker's name came to be because my huband and I spent some time in the great state of Kentucky and loved it! We call him lots of variations of the name: Tuck, Tucky and Kentucker when we're being silly! He fits the name perfectly because Tucker kind of sounds like a trouble maker name...and he definetly fits that description!
