I have a dilema, please help-

I gave in and let DH have naming rights for our boxer baby, partly because he gave in and let me get the baby and the fact that the kids were fighting over names, well, DH decided on Bandit, none of us (the kids and I) really cared for it, don't get me wrong it's a great name and he does have a black mask BUT, I don't think it fits him and I think that Mavrick fits him better... so.... any advice on how to talk DH into it or should I just let him have his way?

Bandit doesn't really respond to the name yet and Mavrick isn't to far off in sound. I am probably just being silly about this huh?

Does that include full name or just first name? If it only specifies first name, you could call him "BM" for Bandit Maverick in front of hubby. Maybe it would convince him to change his mind?? Also, my dog responds to several names, so while DH calls him Bandit, you could call him Maverick, or maybe a nickname later on.
However, you don't want to confuse the little bugger before he learns to respond to one name.... Maybe you should only call him a different name in reference, and not directly to your pup, until you're sure he will not get confused

I know for sure now I am fighting a lost battle here, and I don't know if I could call my pup "BM" - if you know what I mean, but maybe it would get him to give! ( I want to put a winky face here but don't know how)

You've locked yourself into an agreement you did! Bandit isn't so bad.... my neighbors have a blue heeler named bandit...and he's a cutie; so it's grown on me! However, I have to agree that for a boxer... Maverick fits much better! I don't have any convincing advice, however. A deal is a deal! unfortunately!

Funny you say that Hannah, when we got Zeb my brother tried talking me into naming him Bandit or Zorro, he said he's always loved those names. I told him if he liked those names so much he should have named vegas one of them.

Roxy's mama, I too let dh name Lola. Thank god we all liked the name or I'd have been in the same boat as you.

NO DEAL

When we were deciding on names, I know this sounds strange, but the kids were in Fl. and we were in CT, we made up a spread sheet of about 12 names, everyone had input. Then we all voted individually, any name that got fewer than two votes was taken off the list. We kept reducing the list by voting repeatedly. It worked, we all liked the name Remy.

Hmm, a deal is a deal. If it was reversed and he decided he didn't like the puppy - you wouldn't want him to go back on his end of the deal would you???
