lost dog
I joined this board simply so I could tell people about a lost dog. Wow..what a difficult process, anyway. I'm a truck driver and today while I was in Philidelphia at the Tiagra Marine Terminal there was a boxer that one of the guys found wandering out on highway 95 and almost got killed so he brought her to work with him. She's a really sweet dog, looks like she may have just had puppies. I'm not sure if they were going to call the Aspca or anything or how much effort they were going to put into finding her owner. She was just such a sweet little gal, didn't appear to be mistreated or have any kind of scary qualities. I know they figured she was just turned out by someone after she had puppies and I was going to take her...but figured it would be better if someone tried to find the owner. I'm just not sure they would even try. They said.."this is philidelphia, not wisconsin." Anyway, I'm putting it out there. If she belongs to someone in that area...I hope you see this. I left my name and number with them, and told them that if no one calls...that I would come back and take her.

Thank you for rescuing this poor baby! I'm not close enough to Philadelphia to help out, but there are people on here from that way.
I am going to ask the moderators to move your request to the adoption forum (I think that is the right one) If you do adopt her, you'll love her like no tomorrow!!

I'll pass the word - our rescue frequently takes in the dogs from the Philly shelter.

Just heard back from our volunteer who works with the shelter. If she ends up at the PSPCA, she will be fine. If her owner does not claim her, we'll get the call and be able to pull her (and they'll spay her for us).

Thank you djheitz. I thought someone may catch it here faster than in the introductions. Thanks again for looking out for her.

The shelter has called and this girl will be joining us as soon as we can get her. I'll post a picture once we have one. They said she's about five years old and a real cutie.
Thanks for the heads up!

Alice, sweet Alice. You are in a much better place. Be a good girl and you will find a great home very, very soon!
Bless you Debbie for being so proactive and helping this poor girl out. I wonder if was dumped WITH her puppies and they are still out there lost without her. Does anyone know?
You will find her the bestest of homes! Thanks again for such a great rescue!

I just heard that Alice was spayed today and will be picked up by a foster-to-adopt family tomorrow! She's one lucky girl, and I'm hearing she's sweet as can be.
No word on any puppies. The vet at the shelter said she has hyperplasia in her mammary glands, a swollen vulva and needs some dental work.
If only we could find homes for all of them this easily...
