Help! My boxer went missing!!

Hello,
We had a pet sitter over the holidays while we were out of town. Our flight just landed tonight and they informed us she got out of the yard on Friday and has been missing for three days.
She is a 9month old brindle female, she is spayed and microchipped (although the vet confirmed the chips slipped down her shoulder and may not read clearly). she has a flashy white front, black mask, and white on all paws. Her front left paw is white almost up to the knee. Her ears are natural, tail docked.
She went missing from Fremont, California in the San Francisco Bay Area...
if anyone has found her or has any info please let me know.

How awful, I can’t believe they waited to inform you until you got home. Three days is a long time. I am sure you have already done most of this but just in case; go to every shelter (ask about sick & injured [and deceased] dogs while you are there because they are sometimes not housed in the general population, go to vets offices, post lots of flyers, talk to all your neighbors, post on Craig’s list under animals & lost & found, and contact the boxer rescues in your area. Good luck!

howsad!!

OMG i am soo sorry i am so worried for you please keep us updatedif you have found her!!!

One thing I can suggest and i apologize ahead of time for how awful this may sound but my husband is a police officer and is constantly getting calls for dogs that have been hit by cars or injured..in the worst case if they find a dog and it is already passed away they dont call animal control they call the streets department to remove the body. You might want to call your local police department and ask if there have been any calls/reports in the last 3 days regarding an injured or possibly dead dog.

Like the pp said check every shelter and rescue group in your area. You also might want to call any local emergency vets in your area incase some stranger dropped your dog off there. Or at least this way by making all these contacts you are letting these agencies know your dog is missing and they can keep an eye out.

I am really sorry!!! Please know our thoughts are with you!

Thanks for the feedback.... we got really lucky. Animal control found her this morning. She had been hit by a car and has a badly broken leg, but other than that she's fine. A little hungry, and scared, but doing OK. I'm waiting for her to get out of surgery (they're setting her leg) so I will know more later, but I'm so glad to have her back.

glad you found her. keep us posted on her condition. I have nursed a boxer though a broken leg before. He was also hit by a car. It was a very bad break in multiple areas but he made a full recovery. I am sure your girl will too.

PS is the pet sitter offering any compensation or taking any responsibly? Did she get away while they were there?

Thank God

I am so glad she is back with you!!! Admittedly i was worried most of the night!

Lexi (my female) was hit by a car (someone elses fault as well) and she was pretty messed up... chipped all the bones in her rear ankle and completely severed the ligamnet that connects her hock to her leg, road rash, missing front K-9 and completely degloved rear leg. It took a while and some physical therapy but thank God she made a full recovery. She has 95% mobility in her bad leg but that never stops her from ridding the yard of squirrles!!! hahaha!

If you have any questions about caring for an injured dog this is a great place for info. Do not hesitate to give me a buzz i am more than willing to give you any info/support you need!

She is going to do great!! I am sure she is very happy to be back with her mom!!!

Thanks for all the well-wishing!

I will probably have a lot of questions on the health board! It's going to be tricky keeping her immobilized for a lengthy period of time but the surgeon was confident she'll make a great recovering with almost no physical therapy since she's so young. All I have to say is thank goodness for helpful people and pet insurance!

She seems very happy to be back home.

I cant get over the fact that the sitters didnt contact you and tell you that your baby was missing, anyway I was so happy to hear that she was found and on her way to recovery! Many healing vibes to her and please keep us posted on how she is!
