Hello!
Hello Boxer World!
I am new to this board, but not new to Boxers. I currently have 3 fullblooded Boxers, 1 Boxer/Bullmastiff mix, and 1 Staffordshire Terrier. The Staffie is actually my brother's dog, but I am caring for her right now, and since we both rescued her, I consider her to be mine as much as his.
My oldest is Alize... She'll be 8 years old this July. She's a flashy brindle, weighing about 65 lbs. She's the oldest and smallest of my boxer bunch (although Dakota, the Staffie, is smaller than Alize is. She is also the most dominant of my bunch. She was my first true encounter with owning this beloved breed, and the reason I fell in love with Boxers.
Next comes Diesel and Roxi, my twins... They will be 5 years old this July. They are litter-mates. Diesel weighs 95 lbs, is fawn and the biggest love imaginable. Roxi weighs 80 lbs and is a reverse brindle. They are both shy and sweet natured.
Concluding my Boxer Bunch is Achilles. He's the Boxer/Bullmastiff mix. He will be 11 months old next week, and weighed 84 lbs as of three weeks ago. He was one of two (out of 10) pups a rescue friend and I were able to rescue when they were only 7 days old. They were apparently an oops litter, and the people were seen outside a grocery store just giving them away before they were even a week old. My friend and I were able to get ahold of the people, and make an appointment to come see the pups at 7 days old. By then, there were only 2 pups left. We took them. My friend bottle fed and cared for them until they were 9 weeks old. That's when I got my boy, and my friends still has his sister Xena. We take them for regular play dates and vet visits together. Little Miss Xena was full of infection, causing the loss of 2 full toes on one paw, and a partial toe on another. She also fought off pnuemonia in her first 2 months. Achilles was always such a little porker, and was originally named Pork Chop, but I knew he was gonna be a big boy, and wanted him to have a big name, that would match his sister's. I call him Chopper most of the time, but he's my big ol Achilles when he's bein a naughty teenager. LOL
Last, but not least is Dakota. She's an all white Staffordshire Terrier. As she's all white, she is also deaf. She weighs about 47 lbs, and is also vrey sweet. We've learned some hand signals together, and it's been quite the experience. She's also an escape artist. She jumps my fence, no matter how I fix it. At the most, she's maybe 3ft tall (at her head) and she can easily jump my 5 ft fence. Needless to say, we've had to make some adjustments to the fence and house, but I wouldn't trade her for the world.
Hmmm... Let's see, what else to know about me? I live in Cincinnati, OH, USA, and have lived here all of my 36 years. I grew up with dogs, of all breeds, and got into rescue because of my uncle, who has always adopted dogs. I don't have any two-legged kids. My furbabies are my kids. I'm a little overprotective of them, but I can't help it.
That's all I can think of for now. Have a great day!
