Gauges homecooked crockpot chicken

Well we tired the 24 hour crock pot chicken. Worked excellent all bones are mushy. Recipe we used one whole chicken put in crock pot cover with water, cook on low for 20 hrs add one lg sweet potato and one cup of organic oatmeal. Cook for 4 more hours. I removed the lg leg bones only but all other bones are mushy. I put it all in a food processor just to be sure the bones are mushy. Worked great! Gauges only complaint was that watching the crock pot for 24 hrs was too long. ( you may want to add more water as you go and more veggies too)

Why not stew every thing and add the oatmeal last, you wouldn't have to watch the pot for 24 hrs. The idea of a slow cooker is not to have to watch it cook.
