Does homecooking cause major GAS???
Ever since I started homecooking for my boys, Bosco has had major gas problems. I mean he used have gas on a regular basis, but now it is ALL THE TIME!!! He lets one out about every 2-3 minutes. It goes on all day and now I am really starting to worry. Nothing has changed with Crash, but then again Bosco has more of a sensitive tummy.
I would say he passes gas about 30-40 times within a few hours while were home in the evenings. I will freeze plain yogurt in his kong, but it hasn't helped that much. He will not eat yogurt if I put it on top of his food, just in his kong. (very weird)
Anyways is this normal or should I have him checked out for something?
Thanks for any advice

I homecook and have noticed less gas. Every now and then she will get gassy but that is usually because DH sneaks her something she shouldn't have.
Maybe try eliminating foods out of Bosco's diet? You have been cooking for a while now, right? I would think his tummy would be used to the food.

Yeah, I have been homecooking for a little over a month now. Each time I use navy beans, skinless chicken, liver, hearts, gizzards, turkey, brown rice and some veggies.
This week, I forgot to add in the navy beans and liver and used different veggies. Still the same bad gas.
I was also thinking it could be something in the meal, but what should I ellimanate on my next batch? Just to try and narrow out the problem
Oh and I have also noticed both dogs are getting really bad eye boogers. They were never getting this before the home cook. I mean, I wipe their eyes and 3 minutes later more eye boogers.

The beans and vegetables are the most likely culprits (not that it's impossible for it to be something else, but they're just the most likely). Things like brocolli, cauliflower, cabbage and similar items are famous for producing gas (and many people don't feed them). Soo - I'd suggest cutting those all out. See if it helps. Then add them back in one by one to see what is and isn't tolerated by your dog's digestive system. And if losing those items doesn't make a difference, then cut the rest back item by item till you find out what is a problem (then the joy of adding things back in one by one).

I started adding homecooking to Cassius' meal and noticed more eye boogers as well. I would love to know if this is the cause!

Actually, the gas has not been as bad lately Thanks for asking!!!
For a few weeks, I have left out the navy beans and most veggies and he has improved. This week I put in some peas and so far so good.
I will just leave out the beans and see how it goes

I tried peas once. When I picked up the empty bowls, all that was left was the peas. Amazing to me that they can spit out the peas!

I was thinking they would probably spit them out too so after I boil them for a good while, I squash them!!!! I take a big spatula and just make them into a big mush....oh and they stink. So I thought for sure they still wouldn't eat them, but I was wrong..they clean or should I say lick their bowls clean
