Book recommendations?

So I'm thinking about switching to home cooking. There seems to be some good info here, but I feel like I need my hand held to do this. I'd start by asking questions here but I feel like I don't even know where to start. So if anyone could recommend a book with some good basic info and recipes that would be a great start. Thanks!

Re: Book recommendations?

Dr Pitcairn's Guide to Natural Health for Cats and Dogs That has a lot of good information and homecooking recipes in it.

I've just bought this book, as per an earlier recommendation by gmac , and have been reading it tonight. It's full of info on why to feed a better diet, recipes, how to treat common ailments naturally - a very interesting informative read. The recipes are very straightforward so you can get started confident your feeding a well balanced diet.

Re: Book recommendations?

Ive also been looking into homecooking but having trouble finding all the information I want in one place. Can I get that book at any book store or maybe like a petsmart?? Or did you have to order it?

Re: Book recommendations?

I've been homecooking for Hobart for about three months now and I follow "The Whole Pet Diet" book. I bought it at a local pet boutique but I know you can get it on Amazon.
