Ariel could have mange-which only a vet can tell you but somewhere on this site there was a lot of great info on food. Sorry I can't remember the exact place but maybe one the more experienced can? My dogs don't do well with any wheat or brewers yeast so I look for food without that. I also supplement with Vitamin C and fish oil. My boy tends to get hives and I bath him with oatmeal shampoo about every 6-8 weeks and let him "airdry"-no blowers. Hope this helps

That's it! Thanks-it is a great analysis when you are trying to decide on which food...

Dur. We are going through this with Eimear. The itchy ears turned out to be ear mites, which I only noticed because she was shaking her head very frequently and in this odd, slow way - there was clearly something up in the ear department!

Sho also has dry, flakey skin on the back half of her body. And the sheding - my GOD, the shedding. We're doing YAFFS (Yet Another Flippin' Food Switch), but have also been given a bottle of Rx Malaseb shampoo to use on her 2x a week.

I am also thinking about making up a chamomile tea and tea tree oil spritz for her, though, to help with the flaking. I don't know if this would make it better or be even more drying, though. Anyone have any thoughts?
