Question Neem oil for D-Mange

My poor baby Stella was diagnosed with Demodectic Mange the day after Thanksgiving. I have been giving her Ivomec orally, but also read that Neem oil can be used to "spot treat" the areas where she's lost hair - not to re-grow hair, but to help kill the mites and soothe the skin. Has anyone heard of this method? The oil smells really bad (described as a mix between peanut butter and garlic), but if it works, I'll suffer through the smell. I'd appreciate any suggestions!

Stella-bee,
I had no luck at all with goodwinol so I tried neem oil and neem extract. If you look at some of my previous posts there have been lots of discussions on it. Other than putting Henry on a higher quality food, adding yoghurt to his meal once a day and continually using neem, he went from having borderline generalised mange to being mange free. It did take a few months for the hair to grow back, but scrapings showed he was mite free after about 5 weeks.
Everyone has different successes with different things so it's a case of finding the right one for you.
Good luck

You can also buy VitE oil usually around 28,000IU (international units). I applied this to my girl when she was going thru d-mange. Also, great for aiding with scar reduction in humans too! Doesn't smell bad but it is quite sticky.
