I've been dealing with a similar circumstance. It's so frustrating!
Comfortis is a must-have and as many of the others suggested, you should treat the outdoors and the indoors simultaneously. Just because you have not seen them inside does not mean they are not there reinfecting your pets. I think the statistic is something like for every one flea you see, there are 300 more hiding. Don't quote me on the number, but it's something terrible like that.
While Christophe was outside spraying the yard, I washed all of our clothing/linens/rugs/bedding, etc. with Borax laundry detergent. I then sprinkled the Borax all over all of our furniture and carpets, then vacuumed it up. I also ordered food grade diatomaceous earth (DE) from a website call Wolf Creek Ranch, so I sprinkled this in all of the corners of our home and under our furniture and I've even put some of the DE in Sophie and Poster's (our cat) food. I highly recommend reading about the benefits of this stuff.
The best piece of advice I received from someone on this site was to remember that solving this issue takes time. The fleas are rarely totally gone on the first go 'round and can take months of persistence.
Good luck!
