my boxer-pitt seems to snort a lot and have a lot of mucus in the back of his throat too. we even think it is contributing to his high gag reflex-he seems to get nauceous a lot. our vet gave us natural anti-histimine drops for him--one eye dropper, twice a day. she also said we could use commercial chlorphenamine (chlortrimaton), 4 mg. twice a day. So now that the drops are starting to run out, and they were something like $20 for the small bottle, we have him on drops once a day and the chlortrimaton once a day. It seems to have helped.

The drops are from a company called Animals' Apothecary and are called "Spring Tonic." U have no idea what that actually means, but it says the active ingredients are extracts of: nettle leaf, licorice root, burdock root, and eyebright herb.
