Is their a dose amount for fish oil and vitamin E?

My Milo has very bad allergies all year long. We have tried all different allergy foods and he has been on Cyclosporine and a steroid. Neither of these seem to be helping. His skin is all bright red and so itchy. He is approximately 33 lbs. He is currently on Wellness Core because of the no fish content. This helped for about 3 days and then he went right back to super itchy.
Does anyone know if there is a certain dose amount for fish oil and vitamin E?

Fish oil and vitamin are not going to help his allergies. You really need to get him to a classic homeopathic practioner to deal with his systematic issues to resolve the allergies.

I agree that they probably won't help the allergies but they will help the skin and coat and great for cardiavascular benefits...I know salmon oil comes with guides of dose according to weight, I really don't know about vit E...

Thank you. I was thinking that since his skin is so itchy maybe they would give him some relief. He tends to make it very raw from scrtaching so much and I just dont want to keep giving him more meds. I would really like to find something natural to try.

You could try unrefined coconut oil, about 2 tablespoons twice a day for a 60 pound dog.

Great thanks I will. Do you find that in a health food store or regular grocery?

Fish Oil and vitamin E can help dogs with dry skin. My boy has allergies and I see a BIG difference if I run out of fish oil and stop giving it for a few days.

The "typical" dosage is 1,000mg of fish oil for every 15-20 pounds of body weight and (1) 400 IU Vitamin E capsule daily. My boy gets the 400 IU Vitamin E and (3) 1,000mg fish oil capsules and he's 65 pounds. Does a nice job with him. I get both of them from Costco.

I was under the impression that fish oil CAN help with allergies. Omegas have an anti-inflammatory effect on the body and have been documented to reduce inflammation and the inflammatory response. Additionally, Omega-3s have been shown to have a great effect on auto-immune diseases and reduce the severity of conditions like Crohn's, colitis, eczema, and others.

My female had horrible itchy paws and ears. I have since figured out she is allergic to wheat by eliminating and then reitroducing it to her diet. Before I discovered this, my vet prescribed a therapeutic dosage of fish oil. I definitely noticed a difference in her discomfort. She was far less itchy on the fish oil.

Hiya, this is awesome to learn about as Bruce is a bit of an itchy dog too. I've been reading up on Flaxseed oil this morning just by coincidence, for myself! It has Omega 3, 6 and 9 and sounds very similar to the fish oil. Has anyone used it on their dog?

Many dogs are allergic to Flaxseed oil so just be careful here.
