Fleas ?!?
Somebody please help. I have had my Boxer pup for just 5 days and as soon as I come in the house I feel something biting the Heeby Jeebeez out of me. The sad part is that I can't see anything. Are they fleas and if so how can I get rid of them. Please help before I set my apartment on fire.

Fleas are hard to see but flee dirt isn't. It looks like black grit. I use Frontline plus. Not exactly Hoalistic but it is effective.

Could be the "dirt". Do you only feel it after playing (or touching) the pup...or all the time? Also, Frontline is very good. If you're looking "holistic" try feeding a garlic tab once a day. There's also a good lemon wash stuff you can make at home. I think the recipe is listed on the forum under "holistic". Good luck!

That's a bit drastic, and it wouldn't work anyway!
Frontline is the best as far as I know, but how old is your pup? I'd be inclined to take him to the vet, who will not only confirm the fleas (and show you then under the microscope! ) but will give your puppy the correct dosage for his age and weight.
Don't panic, they're only tiny wee things

I use Advantage with mine and it has always done great for me especially on the young ones.

When I bought my boxer puppy, I treated our yard with a product called Fleagard. It's an insecticide that kills the larvae, eggs and fleas and is only available at my vet. I then used Frontline on him as soon as he was old enough and a monthly dosage means he doesn't know what a flea infestation feels like. A 14 month old boxer without fleas = a happy boxer

The 1st step would be to give your pup a bath using flea and tick shampoo. Next, use Frontline or Advantix. Hope you get rid of the little pests soon!

It's usually for 8 weeks and up I think. But, like I said, the garlic capsule can be used.

When our girl got fleas at 10 weeks, I gave her a bath every 2-3 days, dried her off, combed her out with a flea comb, and spritzed her with a citronella based spray that Buddy Wash makes. It didn't solve the problem, but it made it bearable for her until she was old enough for Frontline.
I also dusted the house with a powder I got at the pet store - I don't remember the brand name, but you have to move all the furniture, sprinkle the powder on, brush it into the carpet, leave it for an hour or so, then vacuum it up. DON'T use this while your pup is in the apartment - if you can have someone watch her for a few hours, do. The powder worked great - it kills fleas, eggs, and larvae (though I doubt it would qualify as holistic)
