Question 'RECOVERY SA' for Hip Dysplasia

I just rescued a little boxer girl from the shelter and she has hip dysplasia. She waddles a little and doesn't make any sharp turns but she doesn't seem to be in pain. Her vet won't be back in town for another week so I don't quite yet know how serious it is. Anyways, she has already gone through 2 major surgeries in her life for other reasons and she is only 1.5 years old (roughly). She seems happy to finally have a stable home and I don't know if I want to put her through another surgery so soon. Has anyone heard of or tried Recovery SA? I have heard good things about it but I would like more opinions!

Thank you!!!

I don't have any experience with Recovery SA, but I didn't see anything in the ingredient list that would put me off if I wanted to try it. We have had some success with DGP, an Australian product, but in that case, we're managing arthritis in an older Dobe, not hip dysplasia.

If she's not in pain, I think I'd wait until your vet returns and try to find out just what you're dealing with before you start any management protocol.

Thanks for rescuing her. Good luck...

We just discovered that Mason is arthritic in his rear right knee. I didn't start him on anything until I had gone to the vet to be sure. The vet recommended ArthriSooth by NaturVet. We just started it two days ago so it is too soon to tell. But I like it since it is natural products. If it doesn't work I think we'll try DGP, Dog Gone Pain. Good luck!
