Is this idea borrowable for other boxer rescues? I'd love to coordinate this for our boxer rescue! Please let us know the success of it. $150 is still a good chunk of change from one individual..GREAT JOB

I didnt make it out due to me being ill, but I heard everything went well. There were some special appearances from some of the recues also. So it was a wonderful event. I wish I would have made it but I couldnt get up......DARN allergies in Houston are killing me. Please use this idea, I'm sure it will benefit anyone who does it and it's fun......Read more about it on our rescue sight. Lone Star Boxer Rescue

Bowling for Boxers was sooooo much fun. Other than waiting for our fourth team member, who we were worried sick about thinking she got in a car accident or worse. Kidding Jenn, we did okay, and had fun. I didn't get to see the famous Lola that everyone is talking about.

Of course Bowling for Boxers is open to be used for other boxer rescue organizations. We had a great time, and were really pleased with the turnout. It's always fun to get volunteers and people who just plain love boxers together. There's an instant connection.

Anyway, the info is still up on our site (I need to get it down and get an update up there!), www.lonestarboxerrescue.com, and I'd be glad to answer any questions you may have concerning planning or whatever. Just let me know. The only thing that's not up for grabs is the logo used as it's part of our normal logo.

It's looking as though it was pretty successful. The lowest amount raised that I've heard has been $60 or $70. Some people raised as much as $2,400. My team's total will end up being about $700 or so and my sister's team raised even more. We had a total of 13 teams. We even had a couple of teams of Boy Scouts! They raised money and earned a charity badge in the process!

Anyway, all of our pledges should be in early next week so we'll know more then.

Dana thank you for the update! Just out of curiosity...did you have a sponsor pay to rent out the bowling alley or did each volunteer pay for their own bowling? I'd like to coordinate this event here locally. Great idea folks and what a wonderful job you did pulling it all together

We paid for 15 lanes, but the manager of the bowling alley gave us a discount. Then, each entrant paid an entry fee of $15, which included 3 games of bowling, bowling shoes, popcorn, sodas and cake.

I think we actually ended up covering our expenses, including decorations and the cake, with the entry fees, and we had 2 lanes to spare.

Hope this helps.
