fostering for the shelter

i had to sell all my horses due to a death in my family last year ,i sold them to a great friend and they are doing good and i can go ride if i want...but sence the horses have been gone i have a void in my life so i'm considering fostering small dogs i would do any dog but my boxer scout realy has issues with dogs larger than him..so i was wondering if anyone has any insite on fostering..i have taken a few dogs in on my own but never with a shelterso any advice would be very welcome..........
