Help Five Precious Boxer Puppies!!

Two weeks ago on Friday we were contacted by a shelter in our area that they had four six week old boxer puppies that had been surrendered. All four pups had their tails CUT off with a scissors at the age of four weeks old. All tails were infected and cut in the vertabrae, so all would need surgery. We took them knowing it was going to be a costly effort. They had been on meds for the infection and waiting for some of the infection to clear before fixing their tails and spay/neutering. A day after we picked up the four another was deposited in the night box.....so five puppies total. Today they all broke with parvo. :-( We just treated two puppies last month for parvo and have depleted our monetary resources. If you can please donate even $1 to Nor Cal Boxer Rescue (you can see the puppies and donate at NorCal Boxer Rescue) every dollar counts. Of course we are treating these five but are unsure how we are going to pay their vet bill!!

No help - just in my thoughts

Sorry I cannot help. I live in Australia am a single Mum & have 2 boxers of my own. I just wanted to say I hope these babies make a full recovery & find a good loving home that they deserve - beautiful, beautiful dogs.

And the family that did this to them rot in hell - Disgusting.

Which site should I enter to donate - Cal or Texas?

I sure hope these babies make it to full recovery and find a very happy, loving home soon!

Is the rescue going to get charges pressed against these disgusting people?

Relpy

The puppies are in California so if you can go to that website and donate it would be awesome!!!

As far as pressing charges, that is up to the county shelter they were surrendered to and the DA. We want them to, and have built a very strong case. I believe the county is hesitant to press charges because it would deter people from bringing injured pets to the shelter for care. Instead, in this case, the owners could have let them die a slow painful death. Its really a catch 22 for shelters. :-(

This makes me so sick. Reading about them on the ncbr website brought tears to my eyes, knowing that they're all in a lot of pain and they're so little. I've donated to this rescue before, but it's a good idea to post this here on BW where more boxer lovers can help out. I hope they all make a speedy recovery and heal easily from their surgeries. I just want to hug them!!

Good News

All but one of the pups is out of the woods! Hopefully the last little guy will recover soon. Their foster mom provided wonderful care at her home (IV's and all). Most likely due to her loving care (and medication) they have survived parvo. :-) Unfortunately one of the pups is now showing signs of mange. Poor kids....there can't be much else they could get, is there?

Thank you to those of you that donated!

I'm so happy to hear that the babies are better. Bless their foster mom for all her hard work. Sending prayers for the little one with mange. Hope they find their forever homes soon.
