I am deeply sorry for what has happened to you, Marcus, and to your boy, Boost. It is so disturbing to me that a "Humane Society" could be party to such cruelty, deceit, complete and utter incompetence, words cannot adequately express what has been running through my mind since I first read your friend, Ty Ty's first post and all the subsequent posts. All the publicity this situation has gotten should be tremendously supportive in efforts to bring this "organization" to its knees. What I hope most for you is that maybe, just maybe your boy, Boost is still alive and you get him back. I keep you in my prayers. You have a very good friend in Ty Ty.

I'm so sorry for your loss. In the video I saw from the news station I noticed she said - if A dog tries to bite one of them, she didn't say that that particular dog (your dog) had tried to bite. Don't know if I just saw an edited version or if I despise this woman so much I am trying to read into it too much but it was a bit dodgy to me.

Wow, that's great that they did another update. I hope that the national media will pick up your story once the lawsuit is filed. I know that nothing will bring back you sweet boy, but bringing attention to what happened will help so many. I'm sure that Boost was not the first and that this "humane society" is not the only one breaking laws. Thank you for speaking up for all these innocent animals.

I'm just dumbfounded. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and your lawyer - I hope the AL court system takes care of that woman, and we're still hoping that Boost is still out there and comes home.

I'm sorry seems so inadequate
I hope that your loss and fight for justice will prevent this from ever happening again. Have your attorney supeona any video tapes, maintenance records, and Board reports before these slimebags conviently lose any record of the their lies.

Marcus, I can not express the anger and hurt I have felt following this thread and also the ABC 33/40 news over the last several days. I lost my precious Pokey in January to cancer and I even knew the inevitable was coming and it was still unbearable...it still is at times. I can only tell you my heart goes out you for what you are going through and I wish you the best of luck filing your case tomorrow. Also, there is a thread about this on The Tuscaloosa News website in their forums. I hope you are able to put all the ones involved where they belong...JAIL!!! I also hope you get everything out in the open about any corruption that is going on the that town!
Please let us know about tomorrow!

Wow....this is just insane. I cannot believe something like this actually happened... there was no chance at all for that poor baby to get back to it's owner.
Marcus, I really hope that woman gets what she deserves, good for you for filing a lawsuit so this doesn't have to happen to someone else.

I am sending lots of prayers for you Marcus and hopefully the return of Boost. As I am one to believe you were lied to about what happened to him.
I hope that ederly couple will testify about the state he was in when they took him. That alone should override whatever "moody" state he was in when he arrived.
I also feel this case will go national especially with all you are doing to get it known. What this may do, is get all the "Humane" Societies to re-organize and re-write their methods of operation to avoid possible legal complications later. They MUST be held accountable for their illegal acts. This manager needs to be held accountable for her rash decisions that not only affected Boost but any other dog who may escape their property. To be someone so cruel, so non-empathetic in a job that REQUIRES ONE TO BE EMPATHETIC, is not humane at all! She needs to lose her job and also have some type of punishment for taking advantage of her position. I just don't see her rational at all. What normal human being would decide to kill over life? And to be in a position of playing GOD, she really has no brains at all to hold that position.
I support you in everything you do to get resolution. They either need to re-evaluate their business practices or be shut down. They aren't doing their job or supporting the common practices of such business. This may just make every shelter around the globe wary and take a second look at their "humane" practices.
Boost is up there supporting you all the way! He knows Daddy will fight for his rights. Good luck and let us know what we can do to help. The more names on a paper give it more power!!!! You have as much back up as you need here!

I feel so sad for you and your precious boy Boost. After reading the article in the local newspaper that was linked, I feel Boost was really put down. I thought at a shelter, one must sign away the rights to a pet. If this is the case, the older couple turning Boost in, would not have known his name and should have, likely did, say he was seen wandering. If a dog had to be destroyed for "space", wouldn't it seem obvious to euthanize an owner surrender, instead of a found dog., giving the owner a bit of time to find his dog. There are just so many strange things in this story.
Yes, your story needs to go national. I took the liberty of printing Boost's story and sending it along with a memorial donation in his name to Best Friends, think National Geographic's Dogtown on Friday nights. They are the "grand daddy" of the no kill shelters, and help caring people start up their own no kill shelters. Walker County is in dire need of this.
Again, I am so sorry for all that has happened, and I do hope you can take some comfort in knowing others care for your beloved Boost, and for justice.
