The tribute was beautiful and so hard to watch. The more I think about it the more I agree that Boost may have been sold. Consider this scenario--If a dog is brought in to the HS who is "aggressive", and is brought in by people who found it, the HS has NO idea if this dog may have possibly bitten somebody. So they kill and destroy the animal. So if the dog did bite somebody, that somebody now has to go thru rabies treatment, because they destroyed the dog before it could be tested or identified. I know that Boost did not bite anybody, and was probably not any more aggressive than any dog in that situation, but the point is how can any shelter be so irresponsible. Also, we put that football idiot in jail for killing healthy dogs--didn't let him off with the "I thought they were pit-bull" excuse...sorry to rant...wishing you and your buddy luck in getting to the bottom of this.

its the Walker County Humane Society in Jasper. I found their website & they have a phone # but no email listed. I did see a listing for them on animalshelter.org that had an email address listed.

This is one of the saddest stories I have ever read. I can't imagine the heartlessness of those that are supposed to protect the local animals. Anyone living in the area of the Jasper Humane (non) Society should be in an uproar, because the same thing could happen to any animal. The whole episode makes me sick. There are rules in every state for the protection of animals. I hope there is an official investigation into this because if they actually put Boost down, it seems like it could be a criminal matter.

ok Marcus talked to the elderly couple and they assured him that Boost was extremely sweet and playful and wanted nothing more than to be petted!! This lady is just trying to spin it in her favor. And for the record pits are not outlawed here, so even if it was a pit they cant put it down!! He is filing suit against her and the humane society. He is very thankful for the support of Boxer world and I can post there number if anyone wants to call them, but Im not sure if its within the site rules?

hello, im boost owner. I GREATLY appreciate all the support of boost. This woman was very very very rude to me, before she even knew what i was there for. I was there before they even opened to get him,VERY next morning.... Im going through with everything. There is a lawsuit being filed tuesday against them. Boost was a wonderful dog, pet, and friend to me and my family. He was part of the family. I had always wanted a boxer for quite some time before i bought him. They are truly mans best friend. He got his name from where i like to work on cars, i have a supercharged Camaro SS and thats were i named him "boost" He would always lay under the car with me everytime i would work on it. He wasnt afraid to get his paws dirty. :-) I greatly miss him, as well as my family and friends. I just wanted yall to know a little about him. Because in no way was he a "moody" or " aggressive" boxer. He wouldnt even bark at a stranger, he just wanted to lick them and be petted. But again, thank everyone for the support and "tyty" or i will def keep everyone updated. And a big thanks goes out to "tyty" for all his help. He is a great friend and has been helping out tremendously with this whole case. Thanks everyone, Marcus

marcus, i am so sorry for the pain you are going through, my heart just breaks for you and boost. i went looking for info on this "humane" society and i came across the newspaper article about you, boost and the place, im am so glad you are going through with your lawsuit and i only wish you the best of luck and know even though im here in ny i stand beside you in this case!!!!
there is only one thing that bothered me in the article( well it all bothered me) she said boost was cremated( im sorry dont like the other word) but yet she had his carcass? how can that be when a carcass is a deceased body in whole. i dont get it. she needs to be removed and never be allowed near animals for the rest of her pathetic life.
thinking of you, michele

OMG. This is sick and disgusting. How can such an awful person be allowed to run a Humane Society? I hope she gets jail time.
I agree with Bucca, how can they show you his carcass, but they have already cremated him?
I am so so sorry, Marcus, for what you are going through. Our family will keep you and your family in our prayers. I think this whole situation is so terrible, it is almost unbelievable. There shouldn't be any way she can get out of this.
We stand with you.

This makes me sick to my stomach. I agree that such a person should not be in charge of a Humane Society. I can't believe someone that is prejudice towards certain breeds of dogs could ever be in charge. My prayers and thoughts are with you, Marcus, and your family. Poor sweet Boost.
