The one thing that burns me up about this is that the shelter supervisor didn't know the difference between breeds? Isn't that like one of the most important parts of the job in order to asses the take-ins? If they don't know one breed from another, how do they assume the owners would get the right dog back? How would they answer the calls for lost pet, when the caller is asking for a bichon and they thought it was a dacshund? This is all too rediculous to even delve into. That women is so inept she couldn't possible do her job effectively, let alone correctly for the business she is in. She should be managing a PetSmart, not determining what dog dies and what dog lives.

Secondly, all the staff should have the knowledge that dogs will not act normal if not in normal conditions. Both my rescues were hell on wheels in the shelter, but a totally different dog when out of the cage.

I bet Boost was moody and annoyed cause she called him a pitbull. He should have bit her head off!!!! Put her outta her misery. Crap, she was moody that day too.......shall we put her down as well?

I am just so peeved!!! I want to ring that woman's neck! And to get on TV and look the ass with the lame comments she made.......just goes to show who SHOULD NOT be in charge of that facility. I know they can't save all dogs.....but dang, give the owner a chance to find him again before they make a rash decision based on a scared dogs reaction in 30 minutes.

I wanna crack some heads!!!! I am totally fuming!!!

Exclamation

I just did an internet search for the Humane Society in Jasper Alabama. They have a website with their info as well as an email address. I think Boxer people from all around the world should send them an e-mail. Anybody with me? What if this were our baby?

I could only watch have of the video he made....I was crying for him and Boost.

I hope that he can get to the bottom of this and find Boost safe in someone's yard (and get him back). If not, maybe all of his efforts will help raise awareness and lead to some stricter rules about how long to hold "strays". The shelter manager should be fired....then shot.

all the shelters here from what i know have cameras on the property, does this place have one, if so have the police confiscate it and look it over maybe you can see what really happened. like someone leaving with the dog.

if not i would go to the tv, radio, paper, mayer, town supervisor, even my congressman, etc.... and i would give them hell and let them call the cops you are entitled to answers. dont let them get away with this, i wish you guys the best of luck

I still find it hard to believe that they actually put this beautiful boy down. I still think that someone that works there has him or they sold him. I hope I am right and he is found and returned back to his home. I am keeping Boost and his family in my prayers.

The thing that burns me up is that the lady who runs the outfit said something about Boost being aggressive and that if it bites at one of the staff memebers, regardless of how good it was at home(!!), it can't and will not be adopted. Why in the h-e-double hockey sticks would you adopt out a dog that already has a home! Nobody was asking her to find the dog a new place to live, only to hold it long enough to get it back to it's home!!!

This whole situation really burns me up. Honestly, and terribly sadly, I bet they did put Boost down and I think the owner has every right to press charges because, like others have already said, they should have some sort of holding clause where they have to keep the dog for a certain time before the kill it. They obviously didn't and they should be punished severely IMO.

This really really upsets me. Please let your friend know that we are all thinking and praying for him.

Thank you for sharing the video tribute of Boost from his dad. I sit here in tears not understanding how this could have happened. HOW it is we live in a world that this sort of blatantly obvious chaos is allowed to happen?
I hope and pray that Boost is still alive. If he isn't I at least pray that his family eventually can remember him with laughter and joy verses the apparent heartache and tears that their memories are bringing now.
By his pictures it is obvious he was well loved.
I would see if the people who turned him in would be willing to make a statement about Boost's behavior with them. The story mentioned they were an elderly couple? Were they able to handle the "moody" dog with no problems?
I personally don't believe for a second that he was aggressive in any way shape or form and that the shelter worker interviewed is doing everything in her power to shine a positive light on what she did and the decision she made. Trying to justify the wrong decision.
9 out of 10 people CAN'T positively identify an actual pit bull when lined up with other dogs who have similar builds. That is a shame. Are pits banned in your area?? I'm sure the lawyer will get to the bottom of this or at least be able to come up with some answers during any investigation.
My thoughts and prayers go out to your friend, you and all that knew and loved Boost.

I also went to their site and tried to email them, but their address is inactive. But if there is someone else we could all contact to help out...? It's true, if it were our baby, we would want all the help we could possibly get. I can only imagine what heartache and stress these poor people are going through.
