Myra is HERE! And a surprise...

Dear fellow boxer nuts... I'm sorry I haven't updated everyone sooner, but things have been non-stop since Myra came into our lives. So...for an update...

About three weeks ago, we were set to adopt a 6-yr old named Trixie. The day before the adoption, the rescue called me concerned that Trixie had lately had some resource guarding issues (with our children, a concern). They said that instead, they wanted to bring us a wonderful 10 mo. old little fawn girl that had been saved from a NM shelter b/c of her kennel cough. We had met Myra, and decided to go with the last minute change. Well, she is WONDERFUL. Two days ago, she was sitting across my yard...I smiled at her, and she got up, came across the yard, licked my hand, and then went back across the yard to lie down...like she was saying, "I love you too." She has been super with my kids and just tries to play with the cats....which they don't like, but they have the upper hand. Well, now to the second surprise...this weekend we are adopting ANOTHER boxer. This one is a 6 mo old puppy that really bonded to Myra when they were in kennel. He is a total sweetie as well, and my girls have named him Max. So...you guys were right...boxers ARE like potato chips...you can't have just one! Honestly, I have sensed that the only thing missing from Myra's life was a canine companion. My hubby and I decided to make it happen with Max, since they were already good friends.

Aren't rescues the best! I will try to post a pic of both of them soon. Hugs, Aileen

I love happy stories and this one made me weepy. Bless you for saving these babies. And to have them be such good friends, I can see how you couldn't split them up.

I wish you and all the new family a great happy life together! Post some pics soon!!
