Loose stool

I recently weened Boaz off Iams onto Blue Buffalo and he loves it. He has been completely on Blue for over 2 months. Most times his stool is nice and firm and easy to pick up. Lately he has had some very soft stool and I cannot figure out why. He gets no table food and the only treats he gets are made by Blue and I give him limited amounts of those. I have checked our yard for anything he made be eating, but cannot find anything. He does drink alot of water as we play alot so maybe that is causing it. Too much H20 ? He had blood work and everything is normal. So can anyone give me some insite as to why he goes from firm to loose stool.
