EVO Red Meat

We are hopfully picking up our new boxer on Saturday. She is about one year old. We are currently using EVO red meat. I know I have seen posts about it may have too much protine for younger dogs(sorry couldn't find it in the older posts). Would EVO be OK for a one year old?

I believe it's best to wait till 18mos as their bones are still growing at 12mos.

I think a year old is close enough. I think she'd be fine on it.

EVO should be just fine for your one year old. I switched Zeus to Orijen as soon as he turned one and he is doing beautifully on it.

my boxer is 2 years old and was put back on Canidae. I use to feed him canidae and he wa great untill the formula change and then diareha and loosing hair on the top of his head. I am switching him to Innova, but didnt know if i should give him regular innova or the Evo. is Evo too much protein..is reg. innova not enough protein?

I would think you could do either one.

I know that I'm a little late to post on this one but I agree that it's probably safe to feed the Evo at a year old.

For those feeding the Evo Red Meat, what are your experiences?

I fed Kaybie Evo RM a while back and she LOVED the food BUT her poops were consistently mushy.....that was the reason I ended up switching off the food.....after researching it, the number one reason people ended up switching off of it was because of loose stools. Yet I know others who have fed it with no problems.

Mine loved EVO RM but their gas was bad and my male had loose stool. They are eating Wellness core and doing really well. Coats are softer than ever even my mix who has more of a wire hair coat is softer. They have been on it for a few months so I'm thinking of switching to Taste of the wild for a month or so to give them an alternate. (tried Wellness Core Ocean blend ,which they liked, but Mom didn,t like the smell.
