Pumpkin vs Yougart

Quick question on feeding pumpkin vs yougart. Pumpkin helps with runny poop, upset tummy while yougart hleps with gas...is this correct? I am doing a food switch from Canidae to Wellness Super5Mix and my guy has horrible gas and very runny poops. Now I am nervous I made the wrong switch.....so my question is do I do 1 tablespoon of yougart or 1 tbsp of pumpkin to get his poop to harden up and the gas to go away. Thanks for any help!

1 tablespoon of pumpkin will take care of the runny poop. IMO I would worry about the poop ahead of the gas. Then I would deal with the gas with the yogurt. I really don't think it would hurt to do both at the same time, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

It doesn't hurt to do both at the same time, I've done it, but many times I have found that the gas is CAUSED by the abnormal stool (whether constipation or diarrhea) so if you get that under control the gas may subside on it's own. I would go with the pumpkin first for a couple of days and re-evaluate the gas, if it hasn't gotten better in 2-3 days then try some either yogurt or acidophilus.
