Picky Eater

Hello everyone. Just looking for opinions.

Lucy is the pickiest eater ever! And, I know it's probably my fault She has never been the type of dog to gobble down her food when we put it down for her. Lately she'll give it a sniff and just walk away.(She just went to the vet last week for her shots and is perfectly healthy) We feed her Canidae and hope to switch over to Innova IVO in a few months when she's older. I didn't want to have to switch her now then again to the IVO in 4 months. What can I do to get her to eat? I've tried taking it up after 15 minutes but she doesn't care. She'll just wait until next feeding time and not finish it all. I put some grated cheese in there and she'll sometimes eat it. This is where I know it's my fault, but the only time she'll eat it all is if we put something else in there with it. Last night I kept it just her food and the only way she'd eat it is if I put it in her Kong and she got to dump it all over the floor.

Do you think she just doesn't like the food or should I just be more strict with picking up the food after 15 or so minutes. Spoiled baby

Maybe you're feeding her too much. Is she only eating when she's hungry?

We only give her about 2-3 cups a day. I didnt' think that was too much? But, maybe? She'll eat if she's hungry but never usually finishes her bowl of food. She'll sit and beg for our food though

And blow bubbles I'm sure. Stella used to be the same way and then I jumped on the raw diet bandwagon. It didn't matter what I fed her - getting her to eat when I put food down was impossible. She started on Science Diet, switched to Solid Gold, then Wellness, then Prairie, then a different flavor of Wellness, then mixed with missing link and wet food or yogurt or kefir or eggs or olive oil. You get the picture. Now she gobbles down whatever I give her. Not sure if you're contemplating the switch, but if you're open to opinions, I think you should give it a try.

Oh boy. Sounds just like Lucy. Maybe I will contemplate it. I didn't really want to get into it but who knows. Thanks! She's more spoiled than I think

I bet she will love a bit of plain yogurt in it.

Oh, She loves Yogurt, that's for sure. She gets it frozen in her kong and believe me, I've used that to entice her too. It works occasionally.
