| What are the photos requirements? |
| The photo you wish to upload has to be in .jpg format and take less than 100 kb. The best size is 640x480 pixels. If a picture is larger than 640x480 pixels, the gallery script will create two pictures: one at 640x480 pixels and another one limited to 750 pixels maximum, depending on your original picture size. The downside about it is you are wasting room in your gallery and might not be able to upload many photos. If you upload too small photos (less than 250 pixels wide per example) or too similar photos, they might not be accepted. Keep the filenames simple and short for the photos like joeboxer.jpg Do not use special characters like #, &, -, ., ?, %, !, +, $, " etc or space in the filename. Do not use two dots in the filename (like my.frogdog.jpg). The filename must start by a letter. Do not to upload JPEG images created in Photoshop 7 unless they have been saved using the "Save for Web..." feature. |
| How long does it take to have the pictures approved? Why do they have to be approved? |
| We approve manually every picture that goes to the gallery so it is a time consuming prospect. Approvals depend on how busy we are: from several times a day to once in a week. We maintain this site as a hobby and we have jobs that require us to travel a lot. Pictures did not have to be approved in the past. The gallery had to be moderated when some idiots started to create troubles by posting images that have nothing to do on Boxer World. Boxer World must remain a safe web site for families with children. |

| This happens with: _new members _members who have been temporarily banned _members who broke the rules _members who have not participated to the board for a while. Changes to members account privileges are at the discretion of the moderators. |
| In which category should I upload my photos? |
| If it is a photo about a boxer: _depending on its colour, you can select between "Brindle Boxers", "Fawn Boxers" or "White Boxers". A photo about several boxers of same colour can be uploaded here. _if it is a puppy, you can select "Boxer Puppies". _if it is a funny photo, you can select "Funny Photos". _if it is a photo about several boxers of different colours (like brindle and fawn boxers together), you have to select "Boxer Bashes/Group Photos". _if it is a photo of a boxer mix, you have to select the "Boxer Mixes" category. If it is a photo about other pets: Pictures of your non boxer pets should be uploaded to the "Other Pets".. All photos you upload will appear automatically in your own gallery too and not just in fawn, brindle etc. You can see your gallery by visiting the Members gallery or by clicking the icon just below your post count next to all your posts on the board. |
| Why didn't my photos be approved? Why some of my photos were deleted? |
| They were not approved (or deleted for the older pictures) for at least one of the following reasons: _too small pictures. Some members confuse picture gallery and avatars. Avatars are the little photos that go next to your username on the forums. _bad quality (pictures scanned with their white or black frame, too compressed pictures, web cam pictures...). _not appropriate content (pictures of landscape only, cars only...). _too many similar photos. _too many pets related pictures uploaded at once. Members can upload pictures of their non boxer pets but this has to be an exception. There is no way that on the gallery's frontpage all the latest pictures approved are not boxer related. This is first a boxer site :) _pictures that weren't uploaded correctly because of filenames containing special characters like &, #, $, +, &, %, é etc. Check the requirements for photos you want to upload. _filenames starting by a number. _you have been banned. _you have not introduced yourself yet. You have to post an introduction before using the site. When a picture has not been approved, please do not reupload it again without checking its size, filename, quality and category. Usually there is a good reason for having it deleted. |
| How do I upload photos? |
| Go to http://www.boxerworld.com/photo/uploadphoto.php. Be sure your photos meet all the requirements before uploading them.

| Can I delete a photo? |
| No, the ability for members to delete their own photos was removed because of the actions of some members in the past (eg selling dogs). With over 54,000 members it is too time consuming for moderators to delete particular pictures. Members galleries are deleted with the deletion of their account. |
| Do not confuse the galleries with the albums |
| The galleries are located at http://www.boxerworld.com/photo. Only photos of boxers or pets must be uploaded there. The albums are located http://www.boxerworld.com/forums/all_albums.php. Photos of boxers or pets must not be uploaded there. Use the albums for family/wildlife/travel photos per example. Anyone uploading an offending photo will be banned without any warning. |
