Unhappy 2 Pups in 1 crate????

Hi everyone!
My fiancee and I are expecting 2 littermates in about 1 month. They are 3 weeks old today We are getting a male and female and they will be crate trained. We have already bought a crate, but are now wondering if they should be crated separately or together. I was planning on crating them together and then by the time they are too big to fit in there, I will block them off in the kitchen. Some other dog owners say that they need two separate areas to call their own. I am afraid if I crate them together when little and then separate them to two crates they will be so sad. I am getting two so that they will have eachothers company, and if they are in two separate crates, I wonder if that defeats the purpose. I am confused and looking for advice!!!

a very good friend of mine bought 2 littermate springer spaniels. They have been crated together since day one and now I'm sure they would be simply destroyed if it was any other way. It seemed to work very well for them so I would say go for it. Just remember to always take off their collars before crating them. Especially with two crazy puppies in a crate together.

We actually crated my older female and male pup until they got too big to fit in one crate. We never left them unsupervised but it really calmed my male when we first brought him home. They also bonded really fast. When alone, we crated them next to each other.

I have two littermates (male and female), and right from the word go they were crated seperately Did not want to get into the problem of them becoming overbonded to eachother. At training we sometimes get people with dogs who are far too attached and it is a huge problem to overcome and involes an enourmous amount of work.

I actually don't like crating dogs together - 99.9% of the time it might be okay, but the risk of the .01% fight is not worth it to me. Have seen a fight happen in a crate and it was not pretty
